I've got 2 different types of antique silk kimono fabric with similar looking brown stains. They are not from the same person/vendor so I'm unsure if the stains are the same but they look similar to me? I assume they were stored in Japan which is a high humidity environment.

Here's what I've already (unfortunately) tried: Trader Joe's liquid laundry detergent, shout spray, oxi powder, borax in eco warm on hand wash delicate with a soak cycle. No paste or manual massaging, I just shout sprayed them and threw them in my washer. Then, an almost full strength vinegar soak for 30 min. The stains look lighter but are still visible. Both were air dried.

The first is a very light fabric with green matsu (pine) trees. When wet, it's very sheer. I know this is antique silk fabric for sure. Some areas with the brown stain have turned into holes. After washing, there is a vertical hole forming in the fabric. The stains on this fabric were lighter to begin with.

The 2nd fabric is much heavier than the first (but still lighter than your average hanes t-shirt) and isn't as see through. It's pink and green-ish with clouds and has a texture. I believe this is silk as well but I'm not 100% sure, I've not done the burn test. The stains on this fabric are along the selvedge. This one doesn't have any holes but the stains are much darker.

I know silk isn't supposed to be abused like this but as far as I'm concerned, they are unusable with the stains.

Any ideas as to what the stains are?

What else can I try?
