Message Backup Transfer, Old Phone -> New Phone [Android -> Android]
Pardon my language, as I am very stressed troubleshooting this.
But Whatsapp is the least functional service ever.
My mother recently got a new phone, she needs support, being not very tech savvy. She tried to transfer the messages using whatsapp's built in method and that caused some messages to be lost, since her backup wasn't up to date. (Why doesn't whatsapp prompt a backup when you go transfer message history?)
She had used whatsapp on the new phone a bit before asking me to switch to the old phone again.
Whatsapp is important for her job, so I'm very stressed doing all of this.
But I did transfer the account and messages, back to her old phone so she can archive some important messages and sort things out from messages that had been lost.
Day passes, she asks me to pass it again to the new phone.
I once again try to use whatsapp's built in method for message transfer, but I get an error, so I try to press back and do it again- Only for it not to prompt me to do the transfer again, I try to check the settings to see if I can try to trigger a transfer manually, only for me to look it up and discover I have to reinstall the app for it to prompt me for a transfer again.
The problem is- If I uninstall it again and install it again, I would lose the messages in the new phone, we cannot afford to do that.
So, what now?
I have a few ideas, maybe manually copying the data of the new phone, pasting it somewhere else, doing the transfer as intended, and then pasting the data back.
Does anyone have a better idea? What now?
