Well.... On Friday I had a dude trying to make a left turn fail to yield to oncoming traffic (me!) and totaled my 2019 3.6R Limited with only 64k on the odometer. Luckily my wife and I walked away without a scratch (my left ear was ringing from the side curtain airbag for a few hours and we were a little sore, but that's it), but now I have to start shopping for a new car years before I was hoping to have to. A big part of me wants to find another 2019 3.6R Limited or Touring, but as all of us 3.6R cultists know, they aren't that common and finding one with similar mileage to my previous one isn't going to be easy without buying sight unseen and shipping long distances. Living in the PNW, I see a LOT of newer 2.4 XT Limited/Touring cars for sale within my price range and under 60k miles (waiting on what insurance will give me, but regardless I'd like to keep it under $35k. So for anyone that's had both a later model 3.6R and one of the newer 2.4 XTs, what would you do in my shoes? A four cylinder turbo sounds like it could be fun and maybe a tad more economical than the big six cylinder , and I'm convinced that Subaru safety features played a big part in us walking away from that crash, so part of me thinks that newer tech will be even safer. But at the same time, the 3.6R was a really amazing car. Would love to hear some thoughts here
