Hi, I'm hoping someone can please help me out. I'm 38yo and haven't been told I'm in perimenopause yet however, my GP told me my Estrogen is a bit low. I've been having issues with my bladder in luteal where it's getting extremely overactive and my urethra feels irritated like the start of a UTI (which I don't have I was tested). I read some posts and comments on here and saw that some women have been getting relief from vaginal estrogen cream so I asked my GP if I could try it. She said she usually only prescribes it to women already in menopause however she said I could use it twice a week to see if it helps (Ovestin). She didn't provide me with any additional information. If I'm using it for bladder and urethral issues do I apply it externally or internally? And does twice a week sound correct? I have no knowledge on this except for what I've read on here but my bladder has been driving me insane especially at night, it's also feeling a little overactive during ovulation too so it must be a hormonal thing.
