WA Mining Workers – Can you help us compare pay packages?
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some information from people working across the WA mining industry.
A group of us at work (around 30 supervisors) are currently pushing for improvements to our pay and conditions. We’re trying to build a case using real examples from across the industry rather than just opinions.
Our current package is:
$80/hour flat rate
$3/hour night shift loading
Super paid on 38 hours only (not all hours worked)
12-hour shifts
I’m interested in hearing what other companies are offering, whether you’re a supervisor, tradesperson, operator, rigger, scaffolder, TA, cleaner—any role really.
If you’re happy to share:
Company (if you’re comfortable)
Role
Roster
Hourly rate
Night shift loading (if any)
Whether super is paid on all hours or only ordinary hours
If anyone is willing to send me a redacted payslip (with your name, employee number and any personal information blacked out), it would be a huge help. I’m not interested in identifying anyone—just gathering evidence of what’s happening across the industry.
The goal isn’t just to improve conditions where I work. If we’re successful, I’d love to see it encourage better pay and conditions across the industry as a whole.
Thanks in advance to anyone who’s willing to help.
