$266M private equity fund eyes Chantilly for YET ANOTHER data center

County records show a company connected to Highbrook Investors, a real estate private equity firm, has started zoning paperwork for new data center construction at 14790 Flint Lee Road in Chantilly, just northeast of the Cub Run Rec Center and Westfield High School.

It hasn’t been approved by the county yet. In March, Highbrook announced the creation of a $266 million data center fund targeting Northern Virginia.

YET ANOTHER data center proposed in Chantilly — this one would be the first in the county to use fuel cells

T5 Data Centers will file a zoning request to build a 312,000 sq ft data center at Stonecroft Blvd and Lee Road in Chantilly.

What's different about this one: It would run on fuel cells, which generate electricity from natural gas without combustion, rather than drawing primarily from Dominion Energy's grid. If approved, it would be the first data center in Fairfax County to use fuel cell technology.
