Heads up,

I Received a call from blocked number purporting themselves to be with Fairfax County Sheriff department. They stated that I was to serve on a panel. They were expecting me. Did I not receive that? No sir I did not. What is that. He said it’s like federal jury duty. That he will mark it as DNR(did not receive.) I however still have to show up to the sheriffs office. I asked for his number. He got cagey. I hung up.

I then called the sheriff’s department and spoke to someone, they confirmed it was in fact a scam. Had the call continued they likely would have allowed me to pay a fee over the phone to make it go away. Obviously don’t pay that if you get a similar call.

Pools are finally open and this is the weather we get.

Does anyone know of a place that offers an intro to cars/car care class? I admittedly know NOTHING about cars and would like to learn the basics and how to do simple care tasks myself. I've Googled and have come up empty-handed...

Hi! I am a dental hygiene student at NOVA in Springfield. I had a patient no show today for their appointment so I have an opening for a dental cleaning TODAY. Like right now until 11:30am. And then 1-5pm

The appointments do take longer because our instructors check every step of the process. It will take a minimum of 2 appointments and a maximum of 4 appointments to complete the cleaning. We do a comprehensive oral examination, x-rays, cleaning, and fluoride.

The campus is located at 6699 Springfield Center Dr, Springfield, VA

The veterinarian practice that I’ve gone to for over 10 years with various pets is now owned and managed by a private equity firm. Does anybody have a veterinary practice that they can recommend in Alexandria or Arlington that is not owned by a private equity investor but rather is owned and run by the veterinarians themselves?

Any help appreciated! I was omw to work this morning on NB Patrick St in Alexandria, coming up on Fayette when a white pickup truck pulling a trailer of landscaping supplies/turf sideswiped my car. The driver pulled up next to me, asked if I was ok, and said he’d pull over up ahead. He proceeded NB on Patrick/Richmond Hwy and I believed he was going to turn right on Slaters. However I lost sight of him while trying to navigate to the right lanes without my side view mirror. I checked multiple streets and it does not appear that he pulled over. I’ve filed a police report, but any dash cam or surveillance footage would be helpful. Thank you!

I am desperate. I’m DYING for some good, fresh baked bread, a sliced loaf of bread to make sandwiches with. (I already tried great harvest bread..no shade it was mid to me)

I can’t buy store bread anymore it all tastes off to me.

-I am also not a fan of sourdough bread (I’m picky sorry)
-I would like white/county white (my preference), or whole wheat/multigrain, or pumpernickel loaf sliced bread
-honestly, if it’s a large loaf I can slice it myself if needed

Please, fellow nova residents, I need your help. I am off work tomorrow I will literally drive to ANY BAKERY for a good loaf of bread

Would anyone be interested in getting a group of 8 people to purchase the annual rec center pass in May? Individual passes are typically $700, but at the group rate with the 15% May discount it would be about its $325 each for 8 people, or about ~27 a month.

I will coordinate a time before the end of the month that we can all meet at Mt Vernon Rec, each provide our details and payment to staff and get our own barcode.

I feel like this is getting virtually no attention. Two of the biggest housing rental companies are merging forming the largest rental company in the country. We are in the middle of a housing affordability crisis and two of the biggest rental companies in the region are merging. Precisely at a time when more competition is needed, housing is consolidated further. Surely, this wont result in tenants getting squeezed for even more money.
