Bless You, to Sneeze or Not to Sneeze?
I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death but it recently came up in conversation with PIMIs, I can't remember exactly how the topic arose, maybe because they talked about doing cheers with their glasses.
But the topic of saying "Bless You" arose and everyone around the table loosely considered if it would be bad in light of the GB Update #4 logic. (Someone said their obligatory "I say gesundheit/salud comment) However nobody could really produce a confirmative answer and searching the WT online library only yielded vaguely negative remarks linking "Bless You" with superstitions.
In my own research after this conversation I can't possibly see a good reason in which saying "Bless You" as a JW especially in a more relaxed JW setting could reasonably result in some sort of counsel from elders (thought it might raise a few eyebrows).
I'm sure there's older publications containing more clear (batshit) reasons but is there any currently authoritative publications that say anything explicitly negative or prohibitory about cheers/toasting?
TL;DR I'm thinking of saying "bless you" to my PIMI family members.
Thanks!
