I got the Standing Bear starter kit from Beavercraft. After spending a couple of hours I only removed a bit of the block. In the instruction video they remove a lot of material very easily. I only manage to remove a few little bits at a time.

I have the feeling the knife got dull really quick and the instruction stated I have to sharpen the knife every 10-15 minutes using the leather strap and the sharpening stuff. I'm not sure whether I'm sharpening my knife correctly (will post that video as well).
