Junk Fee Restaurants to Avoid
Wanted to put my own personal experience here to see
Last night I went for dinner at BAO in Redwood City, and at the bottom of a long receipt was a hidden 18% service fee, which I did not notice. I ended up tipping another 18% on top of that. My pre tax bill vs my final bill ended up having more than a 50% difference because of this. We were at $18pp for the meal and it became $28pp because of this. I love BAO, but after that I won't be going back
We went for drinks at Ocean Oyster Bar & Grill after that. They added a 20% large party fee. We were 5 people, I couldn't believe it
Any other experiences people have had with this crap being forced on them at such high numbers?
