I plan on proposing to my partner in Venice in July this year. She doesn't like a lot of attention so it needs to be secluded and quiet location. I have emailed numerous hotels and bars to rent out a terrace but they want £1000+ for even just a two hour slot. I'd be happy to pay for a terrace but over £1000 for two hours is criminal.

Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

No gondola proposal ideas please.
