Transitioning from bottle to breast
I have a NICU baby who was bottle fed from the start, however i want to exclusively breastfeed and i am trying to introduce it by starting once a day.Here is my experience and i would like you guys to decode it for me
Baby 3 weeks old tries to latch deeply by opening a wide mouth but since my nipples are flat they slip out.Anyhow he manages to get a little part of areola as well..then the sucking part.He sucks hysterically but i dont think the milk comes out because he still remains fussy and tries to relatch.When i press my boob milk drops come out but idk if my baby efficiently pulls out milk or not.After about 30-45 mins of this when the baby unlatched and as soon as i hold him upright he spilt out a significant amount of milk maybe the whole feed..Then woke up again after an hour demanding for more..
How do i know that he started having milk transfer ,when to burp him mid feed so he doesnt spit sll of it.How to position him etc
