The LUBA mini 2 AWD has a great Smart Battery Management feature that lets you set a custom charge limit (e.g. 80%), with the mower only topping up to 100% right before a scheduled task. This is excellent for long-term lithium battery health.
The original LUBA mini AWD doesn’t have this option in the app — it always charges to 100% and sits there on the dock, sometimes in direct sun. This is one of the most well-known ways to accelerate Li-ion degradation.
This seems like a pure software/firmware feature, not a hardware limitation. The battery hardware and BMS in the original LUBA mini AWD should be capable of supporting a charge cutoff at a configurable threshold — the LUBA mini 2 uses the same 6.1Ah battery pack.
Request: Please backport the charge limit setting to the original LUBA mini AWD via a firmware/app update. Even a simple fixed 80% option (like on many EVs and phones) would make a real difference over a 3–5 year ownership period.
Anyone else on the original LUBA mini AWD who’d want this? Would be good to know if there’s already a workaround I’m missing.
