Maybe I am blinded by nostalgia. But does anyone else feel that say up until about 10 years ago, gays often had a free spirit about them—-Enjoying art, cute pop music, the finer things in life? So many now seem jaded, with a chip on their shoulder, obsessed with sex (having it or trying to present themselves to get sexual attention), and performing “masculinity. Seeing people solely on the basis of sex, and discarding afterward. The core is missing. Maybe that was always the case?

To get attention on the apps? I am in the gym regularly, muscular, etc.. However, it seems like I am invisible on the apps. Hardly anyone messages first, and often times I get responses but nothing materializes into meeting. Who is actually getting people that meetup?

I am seeing so many muscular, usually “partnered” guys, on the apps as of Thursday. Is there some sort of gay event this weekend?

It is so interesting how many sweet and bright eyed guys move to Chicago, only to turn into grizzled party boys without much purpose beyond bloated muscles. Has anyone else noticed this?
