Hello, first off I did do my best to Google/search Reddit for a fix to my issue and tried everything I saw.

I’m upgrading from a 12700k to a 14900k on an ASUS ROG z790 gaming WiFi (I believe there’s two versions and mine is the first).

I’ve reset the CMOS with both the rear IO button and by removing the battery/holding power and leaving for over 20 minutes.

Ensured the BIOS was the latest

Tried rolling BIOS back to one far earlier (1904 chosen at random) but made sure it was after support for 14th gen was added.

Every time I put my 12700k back in it works no problem, short of having to run through the “new cpu detected” stuff.

I’m at a loss so any help is appreciated. Thanks!
