I’m honestly done trying to understand how grading works here.

Gave my viva properly, put real effort into my research, made sure everything was structured and actually made sense. Walked out expecting fair marks.

Then results drop.

I get lower than someone who didn’t even show up for the viva.

At this point, it’s not just “bad luck” or “strict checking.” I have enough comparisons and evidence to seriously question whether there’s gender-based bias in how marks are being awarded.

Because when someone who skips a required component scores higher than someone who actually did the work, something is clearly wrong.

If there’s a rubric, show it. If there are criteria, apply them consistently to everyone.

Right now, it doesn’t feel like evaluation, it feels arbitrary.

Has anyone else noticed patterns like this?
