I[24M] am separating from my girlfriend [26F] because she wants us both to work on ourselves but im nervous about celibacy

We have been having problems for a while and I'm anxious about celibacy. I wanted to spend my life with her but she's being cagey about her answer. I don't am scared she's gonna be with someone else and if she is I don't want to get back with her. Is that wrong?
