Quick Panel icon not turning off hotspot // cellular billing period is gone?
Transferring from an old XS to an old iPhone 12 today (eSIM) - noticed I was apparently 60gb over my data limit due to personal hotspot… I check quick settings - it’s off. I check the actual settings - it’s on, and when I open the Personal Hotspot setting, the quick panel icon turns on as well.
Testing this behaviour on both the Xs and 12, it’s the same issue. The quick icon doesn’t actually turn off personal hotspot.
Trying to validate the billing cycle with my provider, and weirdly there’s no “billing period” option under Cellular settings. I can “reset cycle” - but there’s nowhere to set an actual period? The “last reset” was back in 2024 - is that total usage possibly from then?
Am I crazy for thinking there’s a billing period setting here normally? Is any of this behaving as designed?
