Measurement & fit check - fitted 34E measured at 32E on calculator
I’ve recently had a bra fit and bought new bras but I’m still confused. I was wearing 32E but in two stores advised to buy 34E as I couldn’t fasten the bands in 32 in M&S (where the bra fitter said the bands had been made smaller) and in Wacoal bras (where I was told the bands come up small anyway).
I was previously in 32E M&S body soft wired full cup tshirt bra, which was fine apart from gaping around the top of the straps/bust area (especially if I put arm forward as if to shake hands). I went to buy the same again but couldn’t do up the band in 32E and 34DD was huge in the band and gave me quadboob.
I’ve now got 34E (in the UK size, 34DDD in the US one) in the Wacoal embrace underwired plunge bra. The 32E was rib cage splitting tight! I wear on the loosest hook and eye in the black, middle in the nude. Plunge seems to be a better shape for me, though I’ve not worn this style before. I was with a bra fitter who recommended band increase only but not to change the cup.
I also bought M&S 2 pack wired strapless bras in 34E. Wearing on the middle hook. 32E was far too tight in the band and I was advised to go up in the band but stay the same in the cup.
These bras seem ok but they’re new so if they do stretch I’m worried they’d get too big. Putting them on backwards seem to be ok around the band.
How can I measure as 32E on the calculator but not fit in them, and be fitted for 34Es? Is there something in the calculator sizes that explain it? Or do I have a shape that only suits some bras?
calculator sizes are
loose underbust 31.5inches
snug 30.75
tight 29.5
standing 36.5
leaning 39.5
lying 37
I’m new to ABTF! I think for vertical I'm full on bottom and horizontal centre full.
