We have mostly owned homes or rented unfurnished apartments. We are new to Ireland and the place we are looking at is furnished. We really like the apartment and the location, however I'm not thrilled about the mattresses and some of the furniture is damaged.

I thought I'd ask the collective wisdom about how you handle changes to the furnishings if they are necessary or maybe just desired. I'm not sure if there is a common practice or what the rules are about this stuff.

We haven't signed a lease yet.
