Seeking series from 15-20 years ago
If this should be in "what's that book," let me know. But I think you'll be more likely to ID this.
Maybe 15-20 years ago, I started a series that wasn't terribly memorable but was fun. I'd like to find it again but I cannot remember specifics.
It was a series of paranormal mysteries with two male protagonists who are in an established relationship despite it being set in the 1800s. It might have been in English, but I might have misremembered that. One main character is wealthy.
They get called in somehow in each book to solve mysteries involving paranormal or supernatural beings or causes.
The titles are my best hope. I think each was constructed as "The (Location name) (term for disaster or happening)" So you would get titles like The Abernathy Incident. I recall the first one having a location that started with an A.
Any ideas? Sorry this is so vague. I think I read three before something derailed me, like the library didn't have any more.
Also, the library out these in mysteries but there was definitely a fantastic element and a lot of humor.
