Working on my Master's thesis on a question that I think is genuinely underexplored:
Does aligning your product with local cultural values actually improve startup performance—or is good strategy good strategy regardless of culture?
India is a fascinating case study for this—22 official languages, massive regional differences in consumption behavior, the jugaad innovation mindset, and community-based purchasing decisions. A product that works in urban Mumbai might completely flop in rural Bihar.
I'm also looking at how India's institutional ecosystem amplifies—or limits—the impact of entrepreneurial strategy on performance.
