Corset neckline "bertha" attachment

Reddit sewists - you haven't failed me yet!

I am sewing Odette from the 1994 Animated Swan Princess. Separate pieces- corset top and skirt.

I made a mistake and did not plan the contrasting bust line "bertha" into the fashion layer of the corset, and instead made it a separate piece I need to hand stitch on.

Currently, it is made of four rhombuses. Two sets of 2 sewn together in the middle to make the "v" at the center, then sewn right sides together all around and flipped right side out so no raw edges show. The resulting v shape is pleated and hand stitched onto the bodice.

I hate it. Its bulky and lumpy.

I have 6 days to finish this, so no going back to redo the entire corset.

How can I make this piece smoother, neater, and ...better?

I just finished this beautiful mermaid skirt for a cosplay and I am THRILLED with all but the hem.

Current hem is double folded 1/4" hen and you can see it is a bit wavy in spots.

I am considering making bias tape out of the same material (peau de soie polyester satin) and doing a bias bound hem with a blind stitch.

However, tutorials really only show this kind of hem on cotton, linen, wool, and the like. Is it a bad idea? Is there a better hem option? (Please don't say rolled hem - I'm terrible at them!!!)
