Hello, long story short. I am an adult living in the U.S. the kitty is a female flame point Siamese, believed to be just under a year old. I do have access to a vet.

Long story short. We recently adopted her, she was spayed about a week ago and finally getting over the surgery. We brought her home, she is stress shedding etc. She started with just sneezing a whole lot. We thought maybe she just had a little cold. She has been using her litter box no problem, eating both dry and soft food along with plenty of water and multivitamins. No issues there.

Now today, she sounds very congested. She grooms herself normally but I think if this was a hairball she would have let it out by now. A lot of online stuff point to this being an upper respiratory issue.

I can hear her breathing sounds congested. She has not thrown up anything. I think the sneezing has turned to coughing? We thought she was just starting to feel a lot better too.

I have pet insurances. I just wanted to get people’s thoughts on this to see whether or not this can commonly happen to recently homed kitties and what this can possibly be.

Please be respectful as I promise you this kitty lives in a very loving home.

Thank you all!
