Warning: Don't transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to Turkish Airlines unless you're sure you'll use them
I wanted to share this so others don't make the same mistake.
I transferred 3,000 Marriott Bonvoy points to my Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles account as a test, which became 1,000 Turkish miles.
Later I realized I actually needed those miles in a different Turkish Miles&Smiles account. I was surprised to find that Turkish Airlines charges USD $20 to transfer just 1,000 miles between accounts.
Paying $20 to move 1,000 miles makes almost no economic sense. The transfer fee is worth more than the value of the miles themselves.
To make matters worse, I couldn't find anyone who could resolve the issue. Customer service simply directed me to submit a Feedback Form, with no live representative able to help.
I'm not asking for a free transfer! I just think this pricing is unreasonable and customers should know about it before transferring points from Marriott or any credit card program into Turkish Airlines.
Hopefully this helps someone avoid making the same mistake.
