Hey guys , AITA for calling my mom ignorant after our debate about my hair? To give some background , I’ve been working a lot in person and going to school in the night time 5 times per week. This means I literally have no time but to work, go to class and sleep. On the weekends I also have a licensing course that runs Saturday all morning . Point being is last time I got a haircut was 3 weeks ago. I literally only have Sundays to get my haircuts . My barber books me 3 weeks in advance .
Anyway today my mom came to visit me my girlfriend on my place to say hello and everything was normal until I said I need to leave to get my haircut and I’ll stop by her house after . She took this opportunity to say that she was meaning to ask when was I going to get a haircut ? And that my current haircut doesn’t suit me for my status and that I look like I let myself go. I told her if I’m going to my barber right now , why take the time to critique me knowing I only get haircuts every 3 weeks. She raised her voice saying that she has to give me honest feedback and that my girlfriend probably doesn’t like to see me without a haircut . I felt this personally because my girlfriend is totally fine with me getting haircuts at my current time and has never complained . Only love and happiness from her. I got so mad that I called her ignorant and left . She told my whole family this and they called me to apologize. Am I crazy ? I just got so mad that I work hard to make my haircut appointments and she made it seem like I have a ton of time and just let myself go. What are you guys thought ? Honestly open to new ideas if I’m wrong on how to handle this next time.
