I made a post recently about picking up my first Ducati. It had low compression on the front cylinder. It ended up having broken ring lands on both pistons. It had 12.5:1 fbf pistons and was punched out to 94mm. Surprisingly, the bores weren't ruined, I was able to clean them up with a quick hone and replaced the broken pistons with some JE 11.5:1 pistons. I found that the ignition timing was advanced. Probably why the pistons failed. But it's back together and running great! Needs a little love since it hasn't been on the road for 13 years. New tires, chain, sprockets and general cleaning up and I can't wait to pile some miles on it.

I bought this off of a friend of a friend who owned it for 5 years and couldn't get it running. I couldn't turn it down for 500 bucks. All the ground wires were wasted. Replaced those, checked the belts and valves and just got it running tonight!
