When did the game peak?

I think it’s pretty apparent that the quality of the game’s entertainment value is just getting flushed further and further down the shitter; new units being essentially just automatic wins and so many people’s decks being almost the exact same.

This got me thinking, when was the game at its most enjoyable? I’ve been playing since the Singular Point season and I remember having the most fun around when Godzilla 2021 dropped or the SHJU collabs (too bad all those units are completely obsolete). And what factors started turning the game into what it is now?

Another question, when did the game start deteriorating into the cringe meta-fest it’s becoming nowadays?

“Fought” the GOAT today.

He surrendered within 30 seconds out of pity after watching me fumble the shit
out of a bad opening hand.

We love your videos!

Any suggestions?

I feel like I have alright attackers but no solid tanks that can sustain a push, and I’m not too confident in the support units I’m using even though I really like em

Found out apparently the franchise had a guest appearance for an obscure magical girl drama called Comet-san in the late 70's. Has absolutely insane implications if we considered it canon

I'm not exactly sure if it was a dream segment or not but she has a child with Ultraman Taro who then has to leave to take care of him at M78 since they can't survive on earth or something, potentially making her Taiga's mother?

And we get some sick additional Ultraman Leo lore as well, starring Ryu Manatsu himself

Would a TABS/ARBS style Ultraman game work?

Armchair thought that came to me while I was remembering ARBS’ various Godzilla mods.

I guess the main draw would have to be the various abilities and talents the aliens, monsters, and Kyōdai heroes you would need to strategise with to defeat campaigns or just watch lots of monsters fight and just chill.

But on the other hand, the amount of monsters and heroes that share the same abilities would probably make it hard for a lot of variation and characters that would even make it into the game meaningfully.

Plus the main draw of Kaiju, their enormity, may be taken away if movements are a tad too quick/just don’t have the weight to them.

Idk, just throwing ideas around. If this sort of game would be produced, would you play it?
