What happened to "economy" cars?

Many years ago, Hyundai and Kia used to be an entry-level economy brand and cost less than $20k, but now that doesn't seem to be the case, and they aren't even that good, they are apparently easily stolen with a phone charger and there have been recalls for the engines catching on fire. I know someone who recently bought a Hyundai and it cost over $45k. Also, compact cars such as the Honda Fit, and Toyota Yaris have been discontinued and the Nissan Versa, one of the only cars left under $20k is on the chopping block and will no longer be available after the 2025 models. How is it that with the current state of the economy and gas prices that budget cars are becoming less popular? You would think they would be more popular than ever. If people are less likely to afford more expensive car models wouldn't the cheaper models be in higher demand now more than ever? Or is it that the manufacturers/dealers don't make enough profit off of them?

Will not boot after install, USB works

Setup USB stick with Ventoy and Zorin 18 iso, was able to boot and run the USB when I put it in the laptop. I went through the installation process and it said the install completed and prompted to restart my computer, but when I restart I just get a black screen that says "Media Test Failure, Check Cable" and then a screen that said "bootdevice not found, please install an operating system on your hard disk", and it just stays at that screen and doesn't go any further.

So I redownloaded and created another USB with a different flash drive and ran through the process again, but the same thing happened again, the installer appeared to complete successfully and it prompted me to restart, but then after I reboot it still freezes up on the black screen with the error message.

The computer is an HP 8560p laptop and was previously working with windows 10.

Why is my laptop saying to install an operating system even though Zorin says it is installed?

Has anyone else ran into this where the USB stick boots up and runs fine but the computer won't boot on its own once you remove the USB after installing?
