Please help me in this situation!!!!

Backstory: There is a neighbor that I became friends with. She’s nice but also very nosey/bossy/loves to gossip.

when we first started hanging out she would be really clingy with me. Would text me alllllll the time, would show up to my house without telling me and although there were times I didn’t mind because our kids would play while we drink lol… it did start to get a little annoying so I sort of distance myself from her. We are still friends and we’ve had many neighbor outings together but with time I started noticing some narcissistic behavior and just Judgy vibes.

her son turns 7 and invites my kids and husband and I to the birthday party. I order a football shirt from dicks sporting goods and order a $25 Roblox gift card online. Both come in time for the party. My husband takes the shirt (that was ordered online) and puts it into the gift bag. Same with the gift card.

Today she texts me this long text message accusing us and saying the gift card is “invalid” and the shirt looks worn/used/has stains on it. She says maybe yours kids replaced the shirt with the new one (my son has the same shirt as her son). I’m literally SHAKING and like hyperventilating that she would think I would put a worn and used shirt in his bag? And a gift card with $0 on it. It’s MIND BLOWING! I tlell her to call me and it takes 45 mins for her to call and I keep apologizing saying we ordered the shirt directly from dicks website and ordered the gift card online and I have screen shots and “delivery” tracking and order # of each item. I apologize literally for 30 minutes and how embarrassed I am thinking like “well maybe dicks sporting goods sent us a shirt that someone else returned with stains” and I guess when my husband went to put it into the gift bag he wasn’t checking to see if the shirt was used or had stains?

She tells me not to be upset, calm down, have some wine, it’s not a big deal and it’s totally fine but wanted to let me know. Again I’m apologizing to her and I tell her I need to make things right so please give me the shirt and gift card and I’ll exchange it at Dicks store for another shirt or something else and see why the gift card was “invalid”. She tells me oh no you don’t have to do that I’ll just wash the shirt and spray stain stuff on it and see if that helps. I tell her please don’t I would just prefer for her to give me the shirt and she’s fighting with me that she wants to keep the shirt and see if the stains come out. I also asked if when he opened the gift bag, did the shirt have tags on it and she said actually I don’t think it did?! 🤔

I also asked her if she could also give me the gift card back so I could follow up with Sam’s Club (where I purchased it from) and she keeps telling me it’s not a big deal and she may have thrown it out.

Is this weird? Is she like trying to sabotage me and make me look bad?! This scenario isn’t adding up. I’m literally on the phone almost crying and feel so embarrassed and so sad that her son had to open a gift with a $0 gift card and a shirt with no tag and stains and looked faded/worn directly shipped from the warehouse. She’s on the phone not mad but almost laughing like girllll it’s not a big deal don’t worry about it!! Blah blah but also not wanting to give me back the shirt and the gift card. WTF? What would you do in this situation?

“Hi! Totally random... I wanted to follow up really quickly because after I sent my thank you, I noticed a couple things and wasn't sure if maybe there had been an accidental mix-up. The tshirts seem a little worn and have some spots on them so I wasn't sure if Leo’s shirts got put in the bag with the gift. I didn't notice until after I sent you the thank you text.
Also, when I tried using the gift card, it came up as not valid. I just wanted to check with you in case there was a mistake somewhere.
No worries at all if the gift was as intended.

the kids were the ones that noticed the shirts and I already bought him more Robux. I never expect gifts from anyone, but I wanted you to know about the gift card especially in case you get them from the same place and they're also not valid and in case they're Leo’s shirts and he wants them back.
