I had a rhinoseptoplasty in 2022 for fix a bulbous tip with slip cartilage, a deviated septum, and large nostrils. About one year later I had a cartilage graft done in office under local anesthesia to fix a small bump (this was successful and not an issue).

Overall, there is definitely a huge improvement from my previous nose. However, I’m still not super confident. I feel like the tip is still bulbous and the nostrils are long and pinched. A small bit of scar is uneven on my columella as well. From certain angles and if you feel my nose there are lumps and dips along the top and while I know nobody is 100% symmetrical, I think my nose is quite asymmetrical and it looks weird. My scars are also quite visible from the side.

That said, I still feel my nose is too big for my face. I’m only 5ft tall and I just want to feel pretty. One reason I got surgery in the first place was bc I realized I had so many more pictures of myself during COVID since I wore a mask and you couldn’t see my nose. Originally, I was adamant about a female surgeon but the one I went to recommended a male bc she said my nose was complex. I ended up using him and he’s super well respected in the southeast. I went to him a few months ago and he said he didn’t think I needed one but if I still wanted a revision in a year he would do it. Is it even possible to get what I want? Or am I making a mountain about of a molehill?

ETA: could’ve phrased it better but regarding the “goal nose” it’s more of certain features I’d prefer to see in my nose not the actual other persons nose if that makes sense. Like I’d want my tip to be roughly a certain shape or my nostrils one way.

ребята оцените профиль и внешку. я хотела бы сделать ринопластику, потому что мой нос вообще не нравится, зато такие прямые носы я считаю очень красивыми и хотела бы себе. как думаете нормально? (извините за неопрятный вид)

My Rhinoplasty Journey /Cartilage Graft and Persistent Bump

I had a rhinoplasty about two months ago, and a cartilage graft was placed on the bridge of my nose.
I want to share my progress from the day of surgery until now because I’m trying to understand whether what I’m experiencing is normal swelling or whether it could be related to the cartilage graft itself.
During the first week:
The whole nose was obviously very swollen, but the raised area on the bridge was noticeable and and slight depression, It looked like there was a specific, fuller area rather than just generalized swelling. It was not something that appeared later during the healing process. The area looked more prominent from the beginning.
Weeks 2–3:
As the overall swelling started to decrease, the shape of the bridge became clearer. However, the same raised area was still there. It became more defined as the rest of the swelling went down.
After one month:
I asked my surgeon about the raised area. He examined it and told me that it was swelling. At that point, I accepted that explanation because I knew I was still relatively early in the healing process.
However, what concerns me is the texture. When I touch the area, it feels very firm and almost like a small solid piece or a defined edge underneath the skin. It does not feel like a soft, generalized swelling.
At two months:
The overall swelling has definitely decreased compared with the first month, and my nose has become slimmer. However, the raised area on the bridge is still noticeable, and I can still feel a firm, defined area underneath the skin.
This is why I’m confused. I understand that swelling and fibrosis can remain for months after rhinoplasty, especially when a cartilage graft has been used. But because the bump was visible from the very beginning and still feels like a firm piece, I’m wondering how much of what I’m seeing is swelling/fibrosis and how much could simply be the contour of the cartilage graft itself.
I also compared my result with another patient who had a cartilage graft performed by the same surgeon. At a similar stage of healing, his bridge looked much smoother and did not have the same visible fullness. I understand that every patient heals differently, so I know this comparison cannot prove that something is wrong with my nose, but it made me more concerned and curious about what is happening in my case.
At this point, I’m not sure whether the solution would simply be to wait for the swelling to go down, whether steroid injections could help if the problem is fibrosis/swelling, or whether a revision would ever be necessary if the prominence is actually related to the cartilage graft itself.
I’m sharing photos from different stages — immediately after surgery, the first week, weeks 2–3, one month, and around two months — so you can see how the area has changed over time.
I would really appreciate hearing from people who have had a cartilage graft during rhinoplasty and experienced a firm or prominent area on the bridge during the healing process.
Did it eventually flatten as the swelling went down, or did the cartilage remain prominent?
I’m especially interested in experiences from people who had a similar issue during the first few months after surgery.

My new nose looks really weird. Is it botched ?

Hi everyone,

I was botched on my first nose job, I looked like a whoville character with a very thin and pinched nose. I went to have my 2nd nose job 1,5 months ago, and my nose doesn't look pinched anymore but it has this weird artificial look. Like I don't know, the shape is really weird.

Am I overthinking this or is the case ? Does it look done ? I'm looking for honesty

Thanks a lot !

At what week did you start knowing if you actually liked your nose and if it suited your face?

I know the final result takes 6–12 months, but I mean just having an idea if you like it or not.
I’m 2 weeks post op and honestly I still hate looking at myself. I’m kinda scared because of that. When did you guys start feeling better about yours?

10 weeks post op and wondering if this asymmetry is swelling?!

10 weeks post op and wondering if this asymmetry is swelling?! It looks a little different every day. My surgeon thinks it is swelling, and he's great, so🤞. Thoughts? Would love to hear from people that had asymmetry that resolved. Note: I have medium to thick skin. I had a kenalog shot 2 weeks ago and it made my nose look way more symmetrical, so I know it's still swollen.

Tip Revision - 2WPO I Feel Crazy

Hi— I hate to be one of those freaking out post op people. I’m just having a panic attack and I need to vent.

The pic on the left was 6 Years PO, my side profile was great. The issue was that my surgeon left my nose crooked and it became worse with time until it was literally like a c-shape. I had a tip revision with donor grafts so yes I know I have a lot of swelling in the tip but I’m freaking out in shock because it looks projected forward so much more than before. It looks like it’s hanging most of it past my chin where it’s a focal point of attention. I also had my tip rotated slightly.

Guys talk me off a ledge or tell me if I’m right.

Really worried about my radix being filled after revision rhinoplasty — will my dip come back?

I’m just over 3 weeks post-op from my revision rhinoplasty and I’m really worried about my radix/upper bridge.

My surgeon used diced cartilage from my nose (septal cartilage) to smooth/fill the area. I didn’t ask for my radix to be filled, and I really miss the dip I had between my forehead and nose. I feel like that dip helped separate my forehead from my nose and made my profile look much more natural and feminine. I feel like I’ve had one of my natural features taken away, and I really miss it.

I know I’m still swollen and it’s very early, but the radix feels like pure bone when I touch it, which is making me worry that the bridge has been built up too much. From the way it looks, I personally feel like my bridge has been made too high/full and it looks masculine.

The angle I’ve attached here honestly isn’t even that bad, but I’m posting it because it shows how high the radix is. From other angles it looks much bigger and more noticeable, which is what’s really upsetting me. The 2nd photo is pre-op, bit blurry and with makeup but shows my lower radix which is I wanted to keep! It makes for a smooth transition down to the nose now the higher radix, and bigger bridge makes my nose look bigger, as it’s a straight line down from my brow to my nose. SEE ATTACHED ANOTHER PHOTO IN THE COMMENTS

I personally feel like I would have looked better with a lower radix and with my natural dip preserved. I don’t want to be told that my nose looks good or that I should just be happy with it — I’m specifically asking whether people think the radix could become lower/more defined as the swelling goes down.

Has anyone had diced septal cartilage used to smooth/fill their radix and then had their natural dip become visible again during healing? Does the swelling around the cartilage make the area look much more filled at 3 weeks?
I’m honestly really upset about losing this feature and I’ve even started thinking about a third revision with another surgeon if it stays this way. I know it’s far too early to make that decision, but I’m struggling with how different my profile looks.

Do you think my dip could realistically come back as the swelling settles, even though there is diced cartilage underneath?

How have others here dealt with having a nose that is too small/ doesn’t fit your face?

I’ve had 3 nasal surgeries.

A) First one was following an accident that broke my nose.

B) Second surgery was 10 years later because my septum stated to collapse and I was having breathing issues. Unfortunately I was completely botched by the revision surgeon= he removed allot of my nose/ did things I didn’t ask for/ instead of just fixing what I needed( straightening and breathing, etc).

C) 3rd surgery happened 3 years ago and 9 years after the surgery that botched me. In this second revision, the doctor fixed my breathing, gave me back somewhat of a bridge, made my nose smoother and gave me a better nasal tip. He couldn’t give me back all the length and projection I had naturally or a hanging columella but he did make my nose more functional and symmetrical.

The 3rd surgery was complex and involved rib, and the goal was to never have another nasal surgery.

Unfortunately, since the natural length, projection and overall size and character of my original nose could not be restored, the current nose doesn’t fit my face as well. I have wondered if atleast some of what’s throwing things off is that I have a significantly longer philtrum now. Having a nose that is slightly too short and too small just throws off my face.

I know I looked better with my original nose( or the one after the first surgery), but for obvious reasons, I’m avoiding any more nasal surgery as that’s unlikely to help.

Has anyone here found things that DO help? Or helped you look more like yourself after loosing some of your identify/ beauty/ facial balance due to multiple surgeries/ being botched?

I recently tried a “lip flip” just to see if having a slightly shorter looking philtrum might help( it’s not in full effect yet but I think it also only shortens philtrum by 1mm).

Other things that I’ve considered by haven’t tried include: Lip filler, lip blushing( although apparently it can’t be done outside the vermilion border), wearing a fake septum piercing( I used to have a real one but pretty sure I don’t want to pierce my thrice surgeried nose), or an actual lip lift( but am concerned it would put tension on/ change my nose).

Have never heard of a procedure just to restore a hanging columella or a lip lift that doesn’t involve an outer scar/ wouldn’t effect nose at all but I’ve wondered about semi-imaginary procedures like that as well.

Horrible results, or still hope?

Hi I’m 6 days into rhino. I wanted a very subtle change, like the drawing. But it looks nothing alike, it looks like a pig, I wanted it almost at 90° from the side and still a bit of my old hump. The doctor says it will look like the drawing. Is there hope?

Is it worth revision for less nostril show?

I absolutely hate the nostril show from the front and it makes my nose look like an Asian or African nose and doesn’t suit me at all since I’m neither of those ethnicities. The second pic is my birth nose which has no nostril show. I honestly have identity loss and feel like it doesn’t match my ethnicity.

Nose job ruined my life

So I had a nose job 3 years ago and to this day I can't breathe through my nose , the surgeon was so agressive it caused me trauma and ended up developing a cyst in my maxillary sinus and I had to get surgery to remove it and a turbinoplasty at the same time which didn't help cause they are still swollen because it's a functional problem, I have collapsed internal valves also the tip is totally messed up , it hurts to press on it and im hopeless no doctor wants to see me and if they do they brush me off I'm thinking of going abroad but how can a surgeon with so much experience mess up this much

My nose looked great 1 year after rhinoplasty, but 14 years later it looks like it is collapsing

The photos above show my natural nose, my nose one year after rhinoplasty, and my nose now, 14 years later.

My result looked great during the first year, but my nose has changed over time and seems to get worse each year. The tip now feels hard, narrow, and overly structured. My nose looks pinched, the bridge appears lower, and my profile has developed a scooped shape I never had before. It almost feels as though the structure is collapsing.

My entire nose also feels hard, stiff, and uncomfortable. My natural nose was soft and flexible, and I was able to gently squish or move it. Now my nose barely moves and feels rigid. I miss having a nose that feels natural, not only one that looks natural.

My goal is to restore my natural nose as closely as possible. I want my bridge back, a rounder and thicker tip, more width through the nose, and a softer, less defined appearance.

Has anyone experienced similar changes many years after rhinoplasty? What type of revision work did you need? I would appreciate surgeon recommendations, questions I should ask during consultations, and advice on what to avoid.

Can I achieve my desired after?

I am contemplating a tiplasty to slightly silm and refine my tip while leaving my nostrils the same. Does anyone have any input on whether this is possible for me with a tipplasty? Additionally, if it’s worth doing for a small change given the risk of complication and the commonality of needing a revision?

Thank you so much!!

Before vs what I got vs what I wanted (is it still achievable)

2016 I did septoplasty that removed too much cartilage and I lacked support. 2026 June I had revision rhinoplasty with rib grafts to correct the second deviation and place support.

The nose I wanted is in the far right and my current nose is shortened, still with a hump and too elevated.

Are the results I wanted still achievable?

15 Days Post-Op: Is This Normal?

Is this normal? I just removed my tapes, and I’m 15 days post-op from a preservation rhinoplasty. My nose looks like this, and I want to believe it looks this way because of the swelling and because the tapes left an indentation between the bridge of my nose and the tip. But I’d like to know if this has happened to anyone else or if this looks normal.

I just got charged $7100 for Alarplasty. That is insane right ?

So I’m shopping around for a doctor for alarplasty I got my rhino in Turkey and I loved it as the years have gone on I’ve noticed that my nose has gotten bigger and i have a flare … I consolidated a doctor in New Jersey and he quoted me 7100 which everyone I speak to says that’s insane for a simple procedure. Let me know also let me know some other docs for this in the area
