Seeing an Endo before GIC
Was wondering if anyone else has done this as I can't find much on this subreddit!
I am currently having counselling with CMAGIC. It used to be a pilot Gender Clinic but that has now changed to be Transcend. CMAGIC then became therapy for people in area. I'm not even triaged by Transcend yet, but I did hear back from a lovely lady with CMAGIC, who is now my therapist.
My counsellor has told me I have a total of 4 sessions, I've had two now. Then, at the end, an "assessment". Its over the phone but she has said she needs to see me, to jump through some hoops. She doesn't deem it really necessary, as it feels like I have to "pass" or look like my gender enough which she disagrees is important. But, I am comfortable and she says we can literally just do zoom and I show my face and then immediately turn off the camera if I don't wanna keep it on. Just enough for her to see I'm a real person, and a trans dude, lol.
I was wondering if anyone else has done therapy with them. Also, she has said that after this assessment, she can give me a letter for my GP for them to refer me to the endocrinologist in my area who is Dr King. He's also on the gendercare network but he is also in Transcend.
Can you really get hormones before being seen at a clinic? I don't want to get my hopes up but that is really exciting. Dr King already treating trans patients is promising and I have talked with him through emails and he has confirmed that I should complete my sessions with the counsellor and get that letter so that my GP can refer me to him.
