She’s danced under bad lighting in better clubs than this one. Her voice is a little scratchy, her knees complain when it rains, and she knows exactly how long to hold a cigarette before making an entrance.
But when the piano starts and somebody clears a little room on the floor?
Honey, she can still get her leg up there.
I made this little mini painting of a hedgehog scuba diving.....then I thought.....do they even swim?

I paint small original artworks with lots of personality—quirky animals, cats, dogs, expressive little portraits and whatever odd idea happens to wander into my head. Most of my pieces are tiny watercolor and ink ACEOs, along with a few larger original paintings.
Everything is hand painted and one of a kind. Thanks for taking a look at my little corner of the art world!
I’ve been painting these tiny watercolor and ink cats lately and this little character may be one of my favorites.
I didn’t really plan the personality ahead of time, but somewhere between the beret, the bow tie and that expression, I’m pretty sure I accidentally created an art critic. 😂
Only 2.5 x 3.5 inches, painted in watercolor and ink.
I painted Sunshine & Rain around the idea that you can have rain falling all around you and still carry a little sunshine of your own.
I didn't want her to look relentlessly cheerful, though. I wanted that sideways expression to suggest that she knows perfectly well it's raining—she just isn't going to let it decide what kind of day she's having.
Lately I've been letting my portraits get looser, stranger, and more expressive, and I'm finding that I really enjoy the personalities that show up when I stop trying to make everything quite so perfect.
She's 11x14, and I think she may be one of my favorite odd little faces lately.
Another little kitten....the vase is on the floor.
The curtain is crooked.
There's dirt where there definitely wasn't dirt before
...and somehow this cat insists it had absolutely nothing to do with it.
Every afternoon she wandered the garden looking for things worth keeping. https://ebay.io/m/TIcksa
A smooth pebble. A feather. A button. A flower that had already fallen from its stem.
The little sweater wasn’t fancy, but it had a tiny stitched flower on the front, so she figured it belonged with the rest of her collection.
She never brought home much.
Just enough beauty to make the day feel full.
I recently discovered jerboas and immediately wondered why nobody talks about them. They’re tiny desert rodents with enormous ears and kangaroo-like legs, and somehow they look both elegant and completely bewildered at the same time.
This little one became “Desert Dreamer.” https://ebay.io/m/YSXzCP I like to imagine he spends his evenings watching the sunset, convinced tomorrow will finally be the day everyone realizes jerboas are the cutest animals in the desert.
Nobody adopted Psycho Kitty for the peaceful atmosphere. https://ebay.io/m/mJRt9T
They adopted Psycho Kitty because life is simply more interesting when your roommate occasionally sprints through the house at 2:47 a.m., screams at invisible ghosts, and then falls asleep like nothing happened.
He liked his collar straight, his buttons fastened, and his manners impeccable.
He believed that if he was kind enough, polite enough, and patient enough, eventually someone would notice him. So he kept showing up every day looking his best, quietly hoping today's the day someone would save him a place beside them.
Until then, he practiced looking brave.
I like painting things that don't take themselves too seriously.
The world already has enough serious dinosaurs.
This one just wanted to dance.
She never set out to become extraordinary.
She simply kept growing toward the light until the poppies found a place to bloom.
Some days seem to bloom wherever they go.
With flowers at her feet and a smile that refuses to fade, this cheerful blue cat is a gentle reminder that happiness doesn't always arrive in big moments.
Sometimes it's just a little bit at a time.
My art is a little wonky, but I hope it makes you smile!

He had a habit of showing up exactly when the world needed a little more color. No one knew how he managed it, but no one questioned it either. https://ebay.us/m/RgquaN
He heard his name, but he's not quite sure what you're asking. https://ebay.io/m/mp9pOh
https://ebay.io/m/aTAm2g He wandered into the garden looking for clover and somehow ended up wearing a crown. No one questioned it—sometimes the kindest souls become royalty without ever trying.
https://ebay.io/m/FyjX4R You never really know what someone has lived through from a single glance. We all meet people in the middle of their stories, carrying chapters we'll never get to read. Sometimes one look is enough to make you wonder about the rest.
