IT Help: Lenovo Laptop Freezing (BSOD) When Connecting to Eduroam/Uni Wi-Fi
Hey guys,
Has anyone had this issue before, or know how to fix it?
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 14ACN6 (Windows 11) that always freezes and blue-screens when I try to connect it to Uni Wi-Fi (Eduroam/Monash Guest Wi-Fi):
- If I turn on at campus, it'll freeze on the loading screen
- If I turn it on off-campus, it'll crash after I connect to Uni Wi-Fi
After force restarting, I get a recovery error saying:
'Your device ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired. Click or press Enter to see other recovery options Couldn't connect to the network. Log file C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\Srt\SrtTrail.'
The strange thing is it works completely fine at home and on other networks. The only solution I’ve found is turning it on off-campus, connecting to my mobile hotspot, and then heading to uni.
I’ve already contacted Monash IT, tried recovery options, and updated Wi-Fi drivers, but nothing's fixed it so far.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas what might be causing it? I need to sort it before exams, otherwise I'll just have to buy a new one.
Thanks in advance!
