They've been teasing Homelander going crazy and slaughtering thousands/millions of people since the beginning of S2.
Something similar to this needs to happen in the finale or it would be a waste.

"The main storyline of The Boys is these two meteors or planets coming closer to each other for a big collision. Whatever the ending will be, it will heavily involve Butcher and Homelander"
Eric Kripke has stated several times how he's worked so hard on the final showdown of Butcher and Homelander. He says he always knew what the last few pages of the script were from the very beginning.
Even if they mess up everything else, as long as they conclude this storyline well, the finale won't suck.
They've been teasing this for 7 years now. They can't mess this up.
I can't believe they deleted such a great scene. The show needs more scenes like this.
Butcher and Hughie's brotherly bond is one of my favourite parts of the show.
I hope we see something similar to this towards the end.
