Women in Chicago, have you also had an experience like this?

Today I was waiting for the bus and some guy started yelling at me and threatening me and even threw his cup at me for no reason. It’s the first time that it happened and I’m from a relatively safer area so it was shocking to say the least. Looking for reasons not to feel confused and alone right now.

Should I join the military?

I’m about to enter my senior year of high school, and I’m deciding on if I should join the military or not. I want to join either the Air Force or the Navy via college ROTC, but am still not 100% sure if I should. I originally had no interest in joining the military and at most, just wanted a civilian career in it. But recently, I’ve been heavily considering actually joining it.

I’m drawn to the idea of a stable career, discipline, and STEM jobs. I know that my personality is not the best fit for the military, but I do want to become better.

Can any veterans or current members give me some advice?

Should I give up or keep studying?

I’ve been studying the SAT for 2 years and still can’t break a 1280. I’m approaching my senior year so I don’t have that much time left.

I wan‘t to apply to T30s but I’m hesitant on going test-optional since a lot of schools are reinstating test scores because they apparently predict college success, so I don’t want to be placed in the same camp as those who MADE colleges bring back testing. And I DEFINITELY don’t want to feel dumber than I already do.

I‘ve already given it 2 years.

I just hope that the people who are rooting for the reinstatement of test scores understand the amount of self-hatred and frustration I have.

How do you guys do it?

How is it that some people could study for 2 weeks and get a 1500 or even on their first try while I’ve been studying for nearly 2 years and can’t break a 1280?

Sure, I didn’t do well in middle school and missed a lot of the foundations in math, but 2 years??? Really???
