Just got my first car, a 2014 scion frs with the p0018 code. Previous owner replaced all vvt solenoids, and so far I replaced the left intake sprocket that was clearly broken when I opened the timing cover. I put everything back together, but the CEL still pops up and puts the car in limp mode after a couple miles on the road. I think it might be a stretched out chain or bad tensioner since the previous owner would replace oil around every 10k miles. I heard this code fries the ECM and will need to be replaced, anyone had any luck with this code?
