Window Trim BRZ (What is it made of)?
I just got a 2017 brz and was curious as to what the material is around the window arches? I have a friend who could vinyl wrap it to cover the sun fade, i’m just not sure if it would stick to the rubber like substance, but if there is metal underneath and it’s just a small layer of rubber on top it might work. Otherwise does anyone have any tips on how to get it back looking great again? Thanks!
Finally figured out what this little compartment is for
New frs suggestions
I just recently bought a 2013 frs as my second car for my 17th bday after driving a 99 4Runner. I found one that was single owned by a grandma, manual, completely bone stock and kept on maintenance with 130k miles. I want some suggestions for what I should mod first, I want to do mostly light mods because I’m not sure how long it’ll last and if it’s worth investing money in performance wise. But my top priority rn is a solid exhaust so any recommendations for that would be appreciated. Feel free to drop anything I could do to improve this beauty.
Any recommendations for these cosmetics fixes?
I’m hoping to find simple fixes that don’t require me to replace the entire door handle or use glue for that piece of fabric on the speaker cover, thanks for any suggestions.
Wrapped or bare
I’ve heard a lot of mixed opinions about heat wrapping headers mainly concerns about oil potentially getting on them and creating a fire risk, plus it trapping moisture and causing corrosion issues or making problems harder to notice.
Because of that, I’m trying to figure out if it’s better to just leave them bare versus heat wrap them at all.
I know ceramic coating is also an option and probably sits somewhere in the middle in terms of heat management and safety, but I’m mostly trying to weigh the pros and cons between wrapped vs unwrapped first before committing to anything.
What yall think, damage…
Hey guys, i hydroplaned on the way to work last night since the freeway was partially flooded… hit a barrier going maybe 30-40 mph after spinning out, driver side wheel is definitely messed up, don’t know much about cars yet, was hoping this car would do that for me..
Do you guys think there’s frame damage or no? Will insurance total me? 2017 Subaru Brz Limited, 115k on the dash.
I just bought her. i’m so sad, she is my baby
thank you for any insight
Opinion on ride height?
Front measures ~13 inches from the hub center to the fenders, rears are ~13.5 inches. This is my daily driver and I am going for an alignment tomorrow. I believe the car has a rake from the factory, so front is lower than the back. Thoughts?

Enjoying the new shoes.
Avg MPG Round up
No track time. Just driving it to the limit every day. What do y’all’s numbers look like
I’m struggling to finish my frs
I’ve been rebuilding my 2013 frs for about 3 years now and got to engine and trans in by myself only to find out I forgot to get new engine and trans mounts on top of installing the clutch and flywheel (I was just trying to get the car ready to drop off at my dads for storage since I couldn’t get the car from Chicago to Houston, now I’m at the point of just paying a shop to finish it and look everything over. I’ve even considered putting the body panels back on and listing it for sale and just putting what in needs done in the description to get rid of it, I have owned the car since 2021 and only put 8k miles on it (5k being from driving back and forth from wyotech to Chicago for school breaks. Idk what to do anymore, I want the car but it feels like there’s bad juju with me and it which makes me want to sell it and start fresh
My 2020 w/ 38k
Plan was time attack! But streetable and fun.
Do you think the GR86s will hold value like the older 86s?
So in my country the older 86s are currently selling for pretty much the price that they came out for (I know you have to account for inflation), but to be able to put over 100k km on a car and then sell it for the same price you bought it for years later is pretty dope in terms of resale value.
Now the GR86s have come out at a higher price point and I don’t know too much about them. Do you think they might follow the same trajectory?
If so then maybe I won’t mind splurging and buying a car that’s actually a bit higher than my general budget. I atleast know it likely won’t be a lemon or one that’s been abused or had the odometer rolled back (something I have found with some of the older 86s that I was seriously considering)
origin labo Streamline Kit
I'm just wondering if anyone has fit this bodykit to their car and have any tips or recommendations for me before I start?
Overtorqued Drain Plug
Hey gents.
Just performed my first own oil change and went full gorilla mode when tightening the drain plug. Yes, I'm an idiot.
My understanding is the crush washer shouldn't even be visible in this picture, so it seems I crushed it so much it became elliptical. Nevermind the stripped plug itself (that'll be fun to get out on the next oil change).
Wanted to hear your thoughts on whether you'd keep on driving or fix this right away and lose the brand new oil. I have been monitoring it for the past 2 days and no oil leaks so far, but it's making me uneasy for sure.
Lessons learned here.
Wiring FRS headlights into a BRZ
I know, I know, this is ass backwards in terms of upgrades but I picked up these lights for cheap and just need something to illuminate the track for night drifting. I’m aware these don’t have turn signal functions and have much shittier light output. The most this car will be street driven is from my garage onto the trailer, it is solely a drift car.
I purchased some 8 pin to 6 pin conversion harnesses but they don’t work so I’ll need to wire these myself. I see a ton of random wiring diagrams online but am looking for some advice from anyone that has done this conversion themselves. Car is a 2013. Thank you in advance!
