What’s this noise? After doing eps bushing/damper. I used the Hyundai one and cut off all the nipples

The noise is significantly reduced when driving. The car drives straight, but if I turn the wheel right or left and let go, it doesn’t go back to straight it will stay which ever way I turn it

Please help

Was doing the eps bushing and tried to use the Hyundai one, cut the nipples off, and put it in. Was tightening this back down, wasn’t really close to being flush yet but had some tension and this snapped relatively easily. What the hell do I do??

Retrofitting facelift steering wheel, gauge cluster, and head unit

So I’m trying to figure this out. Every thread I find involves some sort of wiring needed to be done to make the swc work. But what if I get a facelift head unit, facelift steering wheel, and facelift gauge cluster? (And maybe clock spring/air bag if needed?)

Would everything be plug and play? I don’t understand what wiring would need to be done because the gauge cluster is a direct plug and play swap besides steering wheel controls. But a facelift steering wheel would fix that. Now the facelift steering wheel radio controls wouldnt work, unless I got a 2017 head unit, right? Then everything would work because they all plug into each other?

What am I missing?

Can oft flash stock tune?

Am I able to download the stock tune to my oft and put it on the car? I thought a car that’s already tuned. I have an oft but it’s supposed to read the stock tune before I can write a tune, so will it just read whatever tune the car has right now and I can put the stock tune on? Or any other methods?

Bought a manual, sad I have to sell my silver auto tho

Even tho I couldn’t drive it very well I can tell manual is gonna be so fun when I get used to it. Loved my auto silver and wish I could keep both. Super stoked about this RS1 tho, it’s in great condition and I’ve wanted yellow for so long now.

Sway bar recommendations?

I want to reduce the body roll of the car or induce some more oversteer. What sway bars have made a noticeably positive difference in the way your car handles? Whiteline? Eibach? TRD? Cusco?

Rod knock part 3

Just got my car back last week after putting a new to me engine in. Got it all dialed in and got to enjoy it for 2 days until I came out to my parked car like this after breakfast. They at least left their info but man this sucks after finally having my car back

Tire pressure?

I’m on 245/35 on 18x9.5, what tire pressure should I be running?

This was way easier than I was expecting.

Posted about having rod knock a couple weeks ago. Bought a used engine for $3k and so far runs good. I was so surprised at how easy this swap was, took about 6 and a half hours

Rod knock?

I can only assume this is rod knock and not lifter tick or anything less severe? Hit the red line a lil too much. Checked the dipstick for any metal shavings and there weren’t any but I’m gonna drain the oil tomorrow to actually find out. Video is about 1500 rpms. Just want you guys to confirm the bad news

35 vs 40 sidewall

Can’t decide. I have 18x9.5 +45 wheels I’ve yet to put on, and I want to put 245s on. I imagine 35 sidewall will look better and have a slightly better steering response to it, but 40 will protect my wheels and provide a more comfortable ride. Would 35 really be that uncomfortable? Would 40 look bad or too thick? I don’t really have potholes near me but a decent amount of the roads are pretty bumpy.

It’s a street car but I prioritize cornering before comfort, and I still want it to look good (got Advan gt beyonds). Not sure how much a 40 sidewall would affect performance.

I’d love to see pics of anyone running one of these setups as well

Edit: will probably get PS4s tires

So I have 18x9.5 +45 gt beyond’s and I’m wanting to know which tire would be best for steering response and handling feel.

From what I’ve got from the internet, it seems that 245s may be better for steering response/feel but 255s will give more grip (obviously). I plan to get ps4s unless I find something better for the value. Will probably go with 35 sidewall unless 40 would be better.

Even though it’s a bigger wheel which will obviously have slight downsides, I’m still wanting to keep as much of the nimbleness and handling as I can.

I like this bumper but haven’t seen anyone run it. In far I’ve only ever seen the bumper on Tom’s website
