Need Help with Horrible Roommate
For context, I own my apartment and have been renting my living room to a friend who was in a tough place in his life. I needed the extra money and it got him out of his parents place. It's been 8 months and I am very over his bs now. He has repeatedly violated rules I put in place, doesn't take care of his dog, lots of drug use, incredibly uncleanly, etc. He does at least pay, but oftentimes late, which I haven't said anything about since his job pays him biweekly.
I've tried to be lenient about a lot of things, helped him finance a car when his got stolen, gave him a month off rent when he had to fly out for a funeral. But this whole thing was so he could get his life together, which he is not trying to do. He just takes advantage of my leniency and the union he's in for his job (goes in every day drunk knowing if caught he'll be sent (and paid to go) to rehab).
I need him gone. As of rn, there is no signed lease. All we have is a verbal agreement. Do I need to go through the entire legal eviction process still? The apartment isn't even registered as a renting place, but his legal address is here. Also since I finance his car still I can't just completely cut him out.
