Recommendations on Varnish for an acrylic painting?
Hi! I'm mostly a watercolor and digital painter, so I never had to know anything about varnish, and the few times I had painted in oils a friendly guy that was an oil painter did the varnish for me.
Recently I had two BIG paintings commd and on the first one I kind of used the only varnish I found in the art store and botched it a bit, thankfully I was able to somewhat fix it and it wasn't really noticeable for the owner of the piece. I want to do a better job this time, but I'm confused.
I work with acrylic paint and the canvas size is big, around 1m x 90cm, I've seen that apparently there are different types of varnishes, textures and presentations.
Since I botched the application with the brush strokes I'm kind of leaning toward buying a spray varnish. But what would all of you recommend?
What type of varnish is the best for big acrylic paintings and which presentation is the least ruinable one 😅, I would also like to know which brands would you all recommend!
