Laminates color selection

Do Interior Designers help with just laminates color selection? We are some with furniture structure but I am stuck on color and theme selection. If there are designers here, I would like to hire one for color selection or if the designers do help, I'll go to local firms. Please let me know what should I do! I visited several stores, have their catalogue but I am very confused rn.

Carpenters are sticking fabric sheet to plywood and almost all pieces have big bubbles in them, which they are saying will be flat when they cut it. Is this how it works? Or if not, how do I tell them to rework it?
