Driving With No Key Fob

Twice now, I’ve driven up to my house, left the car running because I just had to run inside for a second, accidentally left the key fob on the table, went back outside, got in the car and drove away with no key fob. Of course, when I get where I’m going and shut the car off, it won’t start up again because the key isn’t with me. And there’s no alert to let me know the key isn’t with me. I tested it out after it happened - no alert, no beeping, nothing. Clearly, I need to be better at making sure I have the key, but this seems like a crazy flaw in the Subaru system. I mean, you could drive across the state before realizing you didn’t have the key. Anyone else had this happen? (2022 Subaru Outback Premium)
