So I primarily play Valheim directly on my Xbox console at home and experience zero issues. I have one main character that I play solo with and is endgame, and another fresh character that I use to play with newbie friends on their worlds. If I am dead at work I sometimes have time to plug in my backbone controller and play some Valheim.

The issue is, when I load up Valheim on the xbox cloud gaming app on my iPhone, it shows in the data/memory menu that my main character has been “deleted”. The cloud data finishes synchronising and the main menu loads up as expected, but it shows my other new character in the background of the main menu and as I load up the “character backups” menu it states I only have one character available and the rest are ‘deleted’.

The first time this happened I panicked and instantly closed the app thinking I had lost hundreds if not thousands of hours of progress. When I returned home however and loaded up my console, I found everything was as it should be and was how I left it the last time I played on console.

I have played Valheim on my phone in the past and had no issues so am confused as to why it’s happening now? I haven’t played it on my phone regularly enough to know if it was caused by their most recent update or not.

Whenever I load up other Xbox games on my phones Cloud gaming app I experience zero progress issues and am able to pick up where I left off as intended. I am hesitant to keep loading the game on my phone incase it overwrites the saved data on my console and wipes all my progress.

Has anybody else experienced this and has anyone found a work around to solve this? Maybe it’s just a case of waiting until DeepNorth 1.0 comes around and hopefully it’ll resolve itself?
