Socorro was so different back then
Goa is my hometown, and I grew up in Socorro. Some of my best childhood memories from there. I still remember walking around the Vaddem areas as a kid everything was so lush green and peaceful. There were huge hills, dense forest covering the roads and it used to feel scary at night too, but that was part of the charm. Goa felt raw and alive back then.
Now, it genuinely makes me sad to see how much has changed. Roads are covered with giant metal projects boards instead of greenery, forests are disappearing, and the whole vibes feels more commercial than natural. And it’s not just Socorro I feel this is happening across many parts of Goa.
Sometimes I genuinely wonder what Goa will look like in next 5 years if this continues.
No hate towards anyone, but the entire culture and vibe feels different now compared to before. Growing up, villages felt close knit and deeply Goan. Today everything feels more crowded, rushed, and disconnected from the old charm.
Anyone else who grew up in goa feels the same way?
