Type D Germany Visa - Approved.

Type D Germany Visa - Approved.

Edit: Title is not correct. Type C Business Visa.

Hi all, thought I’d share my experience incase it helps anyone.

Around 20days ago, I posted here and in UAE subreddit asking if anyone had experience entering VFS without an appointment. I didn’t get any answers here but on the UAE subreddit, an ex VFS employee said to try because it is a business visa.

So I did give it a go.

Wednesday, 12 Aug - walked into VFS with my documentation. VFS entry point officer told me to go via Premium Lounge. Submitted all my documents.

Monday, 17 Aug - got notified saying my passport os enroute VFS Abu Dhabi

Tuesday 18 Aug - picked up my passport.

Visa details.
Valid from (my actual date of entry which I specificed) - 30/08
Expiry - 13/10/2026
Number of Entries: Multi

Documents I submitted…

  1. A detailed cover letter stating the purpose of my trip which was that my company was a platinum sponsor of the event and I was an exhibitor. I also described my role during event.
  2. Company NOC, Vat Certificate and Registration.
  3. Letter from Company stating my travel is fully sponsored.
  4. Personal Bank Statements - 6 months
  5. Salary certificate
  6. Previous schengen visa which was only 1 from France that was valid for 1 year, Multiple entry back in 2019.
  7. My day-to-day itinerary during the event.
  8. The usual passport, visa, residence ID
  9. My tickets and accommodation weren’t booked but I had an email from our corporate travel agent seeking confirmation on flights and accommodation.

These were the most important.

  1. Company sponsorship of event contract

  2. Floor plan of company stand

  3. Exhibitor Badge

  4. Invoices showing my company has paid for the event and sponsorship.

The exhibitor badge was required to allow walk-in.
The invoices showing payment of sponsorship were to waive visa fees.

I hope my post covers everything. In case anything, feel free to ask.
I just have 1 question - Will this business visa help me gain Schengen visas easily in the future if I apply for tourism?

Must see or do list for Hamburg? I am free only during the evenings after 6PM.

Hey everyone! I am in the city for 6 days but working during the day. Hoping to see some of the city after work. Any idea what are some must see spots available after 6pm?

Also, I am a special needs person so please recommend tour guides or tour companies with private transportation who are comfortable doing night tours.

Need to apply for Germany business visa

Hi everyone,
I’m supposed to travel to Germany in the first week of September for a business event, but I’m struggling to get a VFS appointment.

My company is a semi-government company based in Abu Dhabi and is the Platinum Sponsor of the event, so they’re covering the entire trip. I have a signed and stamped NOC, an exhibitor badge, confirmed flights and hotel bookings, and the sponsorship agreement between my company and the event organisers.

The only issue is that there are no visa appointments available.

Has anyone managed to walk into VFS Germany without an appointment in a situation like this? Since it’s an official business trip and all the documents are in place, is there any chance they’ll let me submit my application as a walk-in?

Would really appreciate hearing if anyone has been through something similar.

Edited to add: I also have a letter stating my company will be footing the cost of travel and accommodation.

Edited to add: No appointments available at all. I am on the waiting list however.
