Growing it out, again!
Current length: when I place my hands at my bra strap area, that’s about where my hair falls. About a year ago, it was at my waist, but I cut it to just below my shoulders and, regrettably, added layers. Unfortunately, I will always have thin/fine hair. It’s simply genetics, and layers never really do much for my hair, though every once in a while I convince myself they somehow will.
Anyhoo, I used to be part of an online long hair forum, though I don’t think it’s active anymore. I started my healthy hair journey many years ago after dealing with a lot of
damage from heat styling, coloring, and general neglect. I haven’t colored my
hair in over 10 years now and rarely use heat.
One challenge is that I have to wash my hair daily or at least every other day, otherwise I end up with greasy helmet-head. I sleep on a satin pillowcase and recently ordered a good hair oil so I can start incorporating that into my routine again along with a satin bonnet.
My dream hair length is classic length. For those of you growing your hair out, how do you stay motivated not to cut it? Also, how have people dealt with hard water? I’m on well water, and it tends to strip my hair and leave it with an orange/brassy tint.
