Hi 🥰 I just wanted to show you how a good hairdresser can change everything in just hours. (Fresh cut and colouring)

Hi 🥰 I just wanted to show you how a good hairdresser can change everything in just hours. (Fresh cut and colouring)
Before that I was afraid to go to a salon so I cut it myself, but I feel confident in my choice now.
my hair has been the same length for about 3 years, i cant get it past the bottom of my hips. The lower section of my hair there curls nicely and feels soft unless im using hair spray or gels and such, but it does look visibly thinner.
It’s been almost two years since my last cut. Took 12” off today. It’s still long enough to put into a pony / braid.
In the words of the Terminator, “I’ll be back!”
I was getting ready to paint my toenails and she wanted her walk. She jumps on my shoulders when I’m working and rubs and purrs into my ears. It’s irresistible.
I covered myself with my mane ‘cause no one’s here to see me.
Or is it just placebo effect? I've been hearing this but nothing concrete I think - only anecdotes - so is there any sciencific basis to this and if so then research papers and stuff like that would be useful.
This is my hair as a 18 year old sikh male. Please do recommend products to improve my natural curls. Thank u 💓
Help wanted on how to reduce the frizziness in my hair, im a 23 year old man and its been like this forever, I don't particularly style it much as I don't know what to do for it, my hair only really gets wavy when its long and sometimes curls but not always.
Suggestions so far have been keratin treatments for the frizz or trying to style it as curly hair, but i think its not curly enough.
Any advice welcome! Always had long hair but never really known much about keeping it healthy.
Hi! My hair is down to my hip (1st photo) and I want to try something else like layers (2nd pic). I always had straight cut no bangs whatsoever, just plain straight hair. Just wondering if anyone here has cut their hair with layers? What is the maintenance? I usually go to the gym, only washing my hair 3 times a week but I love the look of blowout with layersss
Edit: thank you so so much for all the response! I decided to cancel my appointment, I realized that my scalp is oily by day 2, and I put in in a pony tail sleek back then braid it ny day 3. No time for styling at all, I only blow out my hair once or twice a month when there is an occasion. So I guess, NO LAYERS FOR ME.
I saw couple of cute ig posts where woman have FABULOUS LAYERS. It's probably just the hype and I'm over it! THANKS REDDIT!!
My routine is that I do not shower so much and left my hair alone!!! I grew my hair from bob cut on Nov 2023 😝
I have a great hairdresser, I have been going to him for the past 10 years. I grew my hair very long this past year and it was in need of a cut, because the ends were thinning out.
I have thick indian hair.
Yesterday I asked for no layers, and just a face frame and a trim. I am not fussed about the length because some of that really needed to go.
But I am unhappy because even though it looks great styled, the face frame has been cut quite deep into my hair. It looks like layers. It's not the worst hair cut ive ever recieved. Styled it looks great (I'll have to figure out more ways to style it). It doesn't look bad I guess, it does frame my face nicely.
I just hate the fact that a lot of hair in the front has been cut off.
one side of the face frame also looks like it has been cut deeper into my hair. Maybe I am just too precious about my hair.
But I am just never satisfied. I think I need to learn how to cut my own hair so that I can maintain my own hair.
Hi to all my beautiful ladies of the subreddit. This is another post of mine. I hope you guys can give me your answers and your advice. So, I have been hearing a lot of talk from girls with long hair that you should only be cutting your hair twice a year at most for it to grow long and healthy, and that you should not be getting trims every three months or every two months depending on how much your hair needs it. Is this true? Is this genuinely true?
Because from my experience as someone with curly hair that's also facing a lot of dryness at the moment, I'm trying to figure out why, I get split ends. Not as much as I used to in the past two years, but I still very much get them, and there is still a bit of damage in my hair that I'm slowly trying to cut off because I don't really want to do a big chop.
So, should I cut my hair only twice a year, or should I continue with me cutting it every two months or every three months depending on how my hair needs it? The thing is, I used to do this two years back. I did not cut my hair often. I used to cut my hair only like every five months or every six months. But I noticed that my hair gets very, very tangly at the ends. Like when I'm trying to take the tangle out, instead of it coming out normally, it just ends up getting tangled at the ends even worse, and it breaks off.
So, I wanna know your perspective, and I wanna know how much do you cut your hair. And should I just do it only two times in a year, or should I just continue until I take all of the damage off and my hair does not have any more split ends? Thank you so much for reading this post. If it's a little bit uncohesive, my first language is not English, so sorry if there's any typos or any misunderstandings.
Hii umm,
So, I absolutely love having long hair, and want to have long hair...As a child my hair was thick, luscious and super long, but now like my hair is Super, Duper thin, falls out like a lot a lot, like brushing my hair-a bunch goes, pulling at my hair same stuff, and showering is like double the fall out😭 and all after eachother, in the same day, day after day.
I also I've got split ends going all the way up to the roots almost, which adds to the hair falling thin but in like tiny strands.
I need tips I want to know how to get healthier hair.
Alsoo I want to like bleach and dye my hair 😅🥹, but not all of it, would that ever be possible with what I want?
I do plan on cutting my hair soon, my hair goes to my lower back, and I don't think I'll mind, too much, cutting it short if in the long run helps me achieve what I need.
I'd appreciate any advice! Please and thank you <3
Edit: thank you all so much, I'll keep in mind getting it checked. I saw some people saying that be a nutritional problem, that is so true like I barely eat lol, didn't know it would impact my hair that much 😭 hopefully it doesn't end up being something worse, and something I can handle. Again thank you guys so much I really appreciate all of the advice. (I read, and upvote every reply, I'm just to awkward and shy to say something back and I feel so bad about that) Much love, thank you
I basically cycle through chopping and growing out my hair. The longest was to my butt in my teens and the shortest cut was to my chin. I’m 5 months postpartum and it’s currently about waist length. I’m getting annoyed with how long it takes to dry, but I’m enjoying the length. I recently found a couple products that are helping with tangles and general routine and breakage, but I’m not sure what I want to do from here. Last trim/cut was fall of last year.
I think about light layers because it’s heavy and thick but I don’t know. I also am tempted to push past this desire to cut and see how long it will get since this is the longest in maybe 20 years.
What do you actually do with your hair to enjoy the length?
Recently discovered I have wavy hair! Granted, I made this discovery in the most humid part of summer, which isn’t doing my any favors.
My routine since I’ve started styling my waves:
Within a few hours or after sleeping it just looks like a frizzy mess.
I think I have 2a or 2b hair. Last pic is BEFORE realizing I have wavy hair and what it would look like after brushing it dry.
Why is my hair so crappy? I was so proud of it. I thought I was doing good and getting length. I look back at my last picture…no, not much. Maybe an inch? I’ve had so much shedding since my pregnancy (I’m 11months PP). Maybe I should just cut off all the scraggly bits, but even when I cut inches of it off my ends will still be piecey? Like my ends don’t look very full unless my hair is really short. If that makes sense. Then I’ll just be sad I cut my hair. Why does it look stringy when pieces fall in the front? I just don’t know what to do. I feel defeated. I need brutal honesty and that’s why I post here. What should I do? What would you do? I’m jealous of the girls with hip length beautiful hair. Thinner ends don’t bother me, but when it looks the way this does when some falls in the front…eh.. maybe I’m harder on myself. Some pics are brushed some not. I do like the picture with the clip in. Thanks for listening to my rambling thoughts.
I unfortunately dyed my hair since and I regret it… a moment of insecurity got to me. But I’m staying strong and not giving up on my growth journey :)
