Should I cut my hair layers?

Hi! My hair is down to my hip (1st photo) and I want to try something else like layers (2nd pic). I always had straight cut no bangs whatsoever, just plain straight hair. Just wondering if anyone here has cut their hair with layers? What is the maintenance? I usually go to the gym, only washing my hair 3 times a week but I love the look of blowout with layersss

Edit: thank you so so much for all the response! I decided to cancel my appointment, I realized that my scalp is oily by day 2, and I put in in a pony tail sleek back then braid it ny day 3. No time for styling at all, I only blow out my hair once or twice a month when there is an occasion. So I guess, NO LAYERS FOR ME.

I saw couple of cute ig posts where woman have FABULOUS LAYERS. It's probably just the hype and I'm over it! THANKS REDDIT!!

My routine is that I do not shower so much and left my hair alone!!! I grew my hair from bob cut on Nov 2023 😝

DAE feel insecure wearing sandals because of their feet?

I love wearing sandals and slippers during the summer, but I’ve always been insecure about my feet because my second toe is noticeably longer than my big toe..

Sometimes when I’m out in public wearing sandals, I start wondering if people actually notice it or think my feet look weird.

Does anybody else have feet like this or feel self-conscious about wearing open-toed shoes? Would you even notice something like this on another person?

Need recommendations for an XL full-suspension mountain bike as a wedding gift!

Hi everyone!
I’m getting married soon, and I want to surprise my fiancé with a mountain bike as his wedding gift.
I casually brought up bikes the other day to see what he’d be interested in, and he immediately said, “Not a hardtail.” 😅 He also said "full susp" whatever that is...

The problem is… I know absolutely nothing about mountain bikes.

He’s about 6' so I’d be looking for an XL frame. He’d mostly be riding trails around Edmonton and similar terrain.

My budget is around CA$850–1,400. But I’m totally open to buying used if that’s the smarter option.
What bikes or model years would you recommend? Are there any brands or models I should keep an eye out for—or avoid?
Thanks! I really want to get him something he’ll love, and I could definitely use some guidance. 😊

AITA for not inviting my fiancé’s friend’s girlfriend to our wedding?

I (25F) am getting married soon, and I’m struggling with whether I’m wrong for not wanting to invite my fiance's friend’s girlfriend..

My fiance has had the same friend group since high school. One of his friends has been dating his girlfriend for 6 years, and she considers herself “one of the boys” because she was the first girlfriend in the group. Over time, the other girlfriends in the group became close with her.

When I started dating my fiance, I was excited to meet everyone and hoped we could all get along.
However, my experiences with her have been uncomfortable. The first time I met her, I tried joining a conversation and said, “I’m going to open up about something,” and she immediately mocked me by saying, “Oh, she’s gonna open up now,” without even listening.

Since then, there have been small comments that have rubbed me the wrong way. She once saw me and said, “Wow, you even put lip gloss on,” in a way that didn’t feel like a compliment. Sometimes when I spoke, she would laugh or respond with “What?” in a way that made me feel like she was dismissing me.

I even booked a lash appointment with her because I wanted to support her business. During the appointment, she randomly brought up girls my fiance used to have crushes on before we met and said, “Don’t be jealous, but he really liked these two girls.” I found it unnecessary and uncomfortable.

The final straw for me was my fiancé’s birthday party, which we hosted at his house. Since I was helping host, I was trying to make sure everyone felt welcome. When she arrived, instead of greeting us or helping settle in, she immediately went to the kitchen mirror to fix her hair, sat on the couch with her feet up, and stayed on her phone while I was trying to talk to her.
I offered her food, and she said no, which was completely fine. Later, my fiancé’s mom suggested I ask again, so I did. Instead of just saying no thank you, she laughed and said, “Girl, don’t worry about me. I’ve been here so many times.” The comment itself might sound harmless, but the way she said it felt dismissive, especially since I was the one hosting and trying to make sure everyone was comfortable.
Later, when my fiancé handed her food, she suddenly switched to this overly sweet, high-pitched voice and said, “Thank youuuuu, [fiancé’s name],” which just felt strange given how casually she was treating me throughout the night.

At this point, I’ve stopped trying to build a friendship with her. I don’t hate her and I don’t want drama, but I also don’t feel close to her or comfortable having her at my wedding. My fiance also isn’t a fan of her based on his own experiences, not because I influenced him.

I’m not asking him to stop being friends with anyone. I just feel like our wedding is an intimate day, and I want the people there to be people who support us and make us feel comfortable. Plus we don't have that much if a budget to feed more than intended.

AITA for giving up on trying to be friends with my fiancé’s best friend’s girlfriend?

I (25F) have been with my fiancé for about a year and a half. His friend group has been close since high school. One of the guys has been dating his girlfriend for 6 years, and she calls herself “one of the boys” because she was the first girlfriend in the group.

When I started dating my fiance, I was excited to meet everyone and hoped I could become friends with them too.

The first time I met her was at a Christmas party she hosted. I was trying to join a conversation and said, “I’m going to open up about something,” and she immediately mocked me by saying, “Oh, she’s gonna open up now,” without even hearing what I was going to say. I brushed it off, thinking maybe that was just her humor.

Over time, there were more comments that bothered me. At dinner one night, the first thing she said when she saw me was, “Wow, you even put lip gloss on.” It didn’t feel like a compliment. Other times, when I would say something, she would laugh or say “What?” in a way that made me feel like I sounded stupid.

I kept wondering if I was just being sensitive.
She owns a lash business, and I booked with her because I wanted to support her. While doing my lashes, she randomly brought up girls my fiancé used to have crushes on before we met and said, “Don’t be jealous, but he really liked these two girls.” I didn’t understand why she felt the need to tell me that.

She also talked about a close friend not supporting her business because the friend did her own lashes. She said, “Some friends won’t support your business and that’s okay.” I thought it was strange because maybe that friend just wanted to save money.

The final straw was my fiance's birthday. We hosted everyone at his house. When she arrived, she went to the mirror to fix her hair, sat on the couch with her feet up, and stayed on her phone while I was trying to welcome her. When I offered food, she declined, which was fine. Later, when my fiancé’s mom suggested I ask again, she laughed and said, “Girl, don’t worry about me. I’ve been here so many times.”

Later, when my fiance handed her food, she said “Thank youuuuu, (insert the nickname she calls my fiance here)" in a very high-pitched voice. Maybe it was harmless, but it felt weird to me.

The confusing part is she would also ask me to sit beside her and then ask in front of everyone why I was so quiet.

At this point, I’m done forcing a friendship. I don’t hate her, and I don’t want drama. I’m not asking my fiancé to stop being friends with anyone. I’ll be polite when I see her, but I don’t want to keep trying with someone who consistently makes me uncomfortable.

For context, my fiancé also doesn’t like her, based on his own experiences with her, not because of anything I’ve said.

AITA for deciding to keep things civil instead of trying to be friends? We also ended up not inviting her to our wedding. Fiance's friend is one of the groomsmen.
