2017 Scott Spark?

Someone stole my Scott on Wednesday, so I’ve been looking to buy a new bike & came across this Scott Spark, the guy said it’s a carbon frame & a 2017, but he’s not very responsive. He’s asking $800 & I got him down to $650.

Just wondering if anyone can help me determine the year & exact model & price, hoping to at least get a decent ball park of the price on bbb.

Thanks everyone.

Trek Mountain Track 220

I got this bike from a coworker for $40. My parents think I got ripped off though but I think it’s a cool bike. I plan on tuning it up and taking it on some easygoing local trails later this year and using it as a commuter in town.

Rockrider Am100s Meinungen?

Ich fahre das Bike jetzt schon 3 Jahre und bin davor immer Giant gefahren. Preis Leistung hat mich sehr überzeugt. Die Stock Ausstattung war schlecht vor allem der Dämpfer. Upgrades:

GX Axs+GX Kette, RockShox Monarch rc3plus (was anderes passt nicht rein). Und MAXXIS reifen. Der Rahmen ist gut und steif. Und falls man mal einen schaden hat ist Decathlon da durchaus Kulanter als die großen Hersteller. Die neuen rockrider all mountains sehen auch sehr interessant aus.

Polygon Siskiu D6 upgrades?

I have a Polygon Siskiu D6, i think its a 2025 model but dont know for certain as i bought it «used» (unused but 2nd hand) for 400$. Bike fits me perfectly and i really like the riding position but i absolutely hate the stock SR Suntour fork, its a coil spring fork with 120mm of travel but i cant seem to get it adjusted to my liking and its sloppy/has a lot of play.

Its mostly stock except i swapped out the tires and went tubeless, swapped the pedals for raceface chester, swapped the brake levers for Shimano MT201 levers and i’ve swapped the handlebars to better suit me. (Picture is from the day i got it, bone stock in the picture).

Since the bike only cost me 400$ and fits me so well im willing to spend quite a bit on upgrades so lets say the budget is 1000$, what should i upgrade for the money?

2019 specialized stump jumper

Pretty new to mountain biking this year. I picked up a 2008 specialized rockhopper with 26’s since I didn’t know if the hobby would stick. Well it has an everyday I’ve thought about mountain biking, wanted to go biking (and have most days) and constantly search bikes on marketplace. Not really in a spot to buy a brand new full sus.

Asking price is $1400 on this bike. It looks very clean, some scrapes by the handle bars. But it’s been for sale for a bit. And this seller usually has a fast turn around on bikes it seems.

Is price too high for a 2019 full sus? Or is it right in the ballpark. Very attracted to this bike, I hear good things about the stump jumper of how it’s a great all rounder, and not to mention I love the color schemes. I’m sure you are all way more knowledgable than me. Is the price fair? Should I just ride the old hardtail for the rest of the year and continue improving and spend next year? I know this is all entirely up to me, and my money, and my preference but I want your outlook on it as well! Thank you! Love the hobby so far guys, so much fun! Have even thought about riding the motorcycle less for this hobby haha, thanks guys.

Switched to Full Suspension XC

The previous carbon hardtail was stiff and jarring on bumpy trails and long rides. My body felt it.

Recently transferred all the components to a full suspension frame and there is no turning back. Feels so much better and still rides fast.

For those who have converted to full suspension, do you feel the same way?

Thoughts on Diamondback Mason 2?

2021 Diamondback Mason 2, 27.5in wheels, never ridden on a trail, only a few rides on the road.

Dropper post is broken. It goes up and down with assistance. (If you push the dropper lever you have to push the seat up with your hand)

Seller is asking $600. Thoughts on this price?

Need Advice

I’m one of the volunteer trail maintainers for the Cunningham Park MTB trail system in Queens, NYC. I primarily maintain the West Loop Trail, but also help with trail work, feature building, and maintenance throughout the system.

We're dealing with a growing problem and could really use advice from other trail builders.

Our trail system is increasingly being used by riders on illegal motorized vehicles, including:

  • Gas-powered dirt bikes (full motocross bikes)
  • High-powered electric dirt bikes (Sur-Ron, Talaria, etc.)
  • Lower-cost electric dirt bikes that are often sold online

These vehicles are prohibited on our mountain bike trails, and the trailheads are clearly signed. Unfortunately, enforcement has been inconsistent, and despite occasional citywide crackdowns on illegal dirt bikes and e-bikes elsewhere in NYC, our trail system continues to be affected.

The damage to the trails has become significant, and the moto riders have also been creating safety concerns for hikers, mountain bikers, and families using the park (riding backwards at speed; theatening individuals).

We're looking for proven physical solutions that help prevent motorized vehicles from entering while still allowing access for mountain bikes, hikers, and legitimate maintenance equipment.

Have any of you successfully installed:

  • Gates
  • Bollards
  • Chicane entrances
  • Barrier systems
  • Fencing
  • Jersey Barriers / K-rails
  • Other access-control designs

that have actually reduced or eliminated this problem?

If you have photos, design plans, dimensions, or examples from your trail system, I'd really appreciate seeing them. We're hoping to find a solution that is effective, durable, and still maintains good access for legitimate trail users.

Thanks in advance for any ideas or lessons learned.

My first two jumps for a trail im making

These jumps are for the start of my trail. I decided to turn my old atv trail my family built into a mtb trail for me and my friends if they come over. My fad said he'll help cause he used to hit jumps like these on a bmx bike. Its going to take awhile since I have to cut weeds, rake and till the dirt but once it's done I'll ride it till i die. I'll keep yall posted, I know those are small but there the start of something way bigger.
